Inspiration

In Italian, “Terra Bella” translates to Beautiful Land, which we try and embody in our tile. Terra Bella is a hand-made, high-fired terra cotta tile produced in California. These tiles are designed to be historically accurate to reflect the architectural terra cotta tiles once produced in the United States during the 1920’s. Terra Bella tiles have the versatility of being installed throughout your home, inside and outside, yet durable enough for commercial use.

Handmade Tile

Our Terra Bella 3/4” Pavers are hand cast using the highest quality clays . These tiles are high fired to achieve rich red, orange, and brown color tones as well as a dense, durable body. Terra Bella’s rated for interior and exterior and can also be used in freeze-thaw conditions.

Terra Bella Thin Pressed tiles achieve the same colors as our pavers but in a 1/2” thick body. These pressed tiles can be installed both glazed, unglazed, or a combination of the two.

Our manufacturing process strives to create variation in color, shade, size, and thickness which adds to the hand-made quality of our tile.

Underlying crazing is normal with our Terra Bella line when it is glazed. Make sure to seal before and after grouting. Periodic maintenance is necessary to avoid moisture intrusion.

Unglazed & glazed tile will have variation in size, color, and thickness.

Crackle glazes require sealing before grouting and periodic maintenance to avoid moisture intrusion.

Matte glazes have a high resistance to abrasion, but may be prone to staining and smudging.

Test all dark grouts prior to installation.

Installation

Tiles must be mixed from all cartons during installation to ensure proper blending. An experienced tile installer will ensure an acceptable installation. Please inspect and approve tile prior to installation. Mission Tile West recommends the use of Custom Building Products MegaLite as a setting material and Dry Treat’s Stain-Proof impregnating sealer for all Terra Bella products. Installation of our tiles constitutes acceptance, and no claims will be considered thereafter.
